5. Activities

A. Guidance Prefect

Students are invited to join the Guidance Prefect, where they will receive comprehensive training in interpersonal skills, leadership, and activity planning. By utilizing these skills, they will serve as peer counselors, fostering a caring culture within our school community.

B. Respect and Caring Activities

The Guidance and Counseling Department, in collaboration with the Guidance Prefect, works with various organizations to plan diverse activities aimed at promoting a culture of respect and care. One such activity involves students creating small bouquets and presenting them to teachers and classmates as heartfelt gestures of respect and appreciation.

C. Teacher's Week Activity

During Teacher's Week, students showed their appreciation by preparing small gifts and heartfelt cards for their teachers. The thoughtful gestures brought smiles to the faces of the teachers, who were touched by the students' gratitude. It was a lovely way to recognize their hard work and dedication.

D. Bi-monthly Birthday Party

Our school has organized bi-monthly birthday parties for teachers and students to increase the harmonious atmosphere of the school and cultivate a sense of belonging. The parties are conducted at lunchtime in the 4/F Cafeteria in New Annex. We invite all students and teachers who have birthdays in related months to join the party and celebrate together.

The highlight of the party was the cutting of exquisitely decorated birthday cakes, which delighted everyone in attendance. Smiles, laughter, and a sense of unity filled the atmosphere as everyone indulged in the delicious treats. The celebration concluded with a joyful ambiance, leaving lasting memories of a cherished gathering.

E. Positive Attitude Activities

The Guidance Prefect has organized positive booth activities to promote a positive attitude and raise awareness about mental health among students. These activities include interactive games and thought-provoking questions to facilitate a deeper understanding of mental well-being.

F. Student's Talks or workshops

The Guidance and Counseling Department organizes student talks and workshops on various topics, including stress management, time management, goal setting, sex education, and anti-drug awareness. These sessions aim to facilitate the holistic development of students, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for personal growth and well-being.

G. Students Cell Group

The Guidance and Counseling Department offers students a variety of cell groups where they can participate in stress-release skills through art therapy and develop their interpersonal skills through board game activities. These initiatives are designed to cater to the needs of students, fostering their well-being and supporting their personal growth.

H. Parent's Talk

The Guidance and Counseling Department organizes a series of parent's workshops aimed at helping parents understand the needs and changes of children as they transition to secondary school. Topics covered include adjusting expectations and effective communication during adolescence. The workshops offer practical tips and suggestions, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for parents and children. Parents have the opportunity to engage in discussions, ask questions, and gain valuable knowledge to strengthen their parent-child relationship.

I. Teacher Training

The Guidance and Counseling Department provides teacher training sessions on various topics, including communication skills with parents and teenagers, class management, developmental needs for teenagers, and drug trends and related laws. These trainings aim to equip teachers with essential knowledge and skills to benefit both teachers and students. Teachers will gain strategies to effectively communicate with parents and teenagers, manage their classes more efficiently, understand the developmental needs of teenagers, and stay informed about drug trends and legal aspects. Ultimately, these trainings contribute to creating a conducive learning environment and promoting the overall well-being of students.
