Congratulations to our student 5A Fan Bo Yee for claiming her first individual medal at an international fencing competition!
Breezing through the preliminary stages of the competition, Fan reached the finals in the Cadet Women's Foil event of the FIE World Cup 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia on January 17. Although Fan was falling behind initially, she rallied to equalise the score. After winning consecutive points, Fan ultimately claimed the silver medal after narrowly losing 14-15 to Australian fencer Xue Kirsty.
Fan admitted to feeling very nervous before the matches, but adjusted her mindset with encouragement from her coach. She gained confidence as she found her rhythm during the competition, which ultimately helped her earn the medal as a validation for her efforts.
Congratulations once again to Fan Bo Yee for her outstanding achievement!
