Celebrating National Day and Deepening National Pride: LTFC Students Attend PolyU Chinese Culture Festival
慶祝國慶77周年: 林大輝中學學生參與理大中華文化節

On 1st October, National Day, over 20 students and teachers visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for the PolyU Chinese Culture Festival event, "Hakka Rhythm Heritage in the Bay Area: Shaping a Shared Future."

Students first watched the dance drama "1942: Through the Blockade Line." Set during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the performance depicted the "Great Rescue of Hong Kong." Through expressive choreography, the drama brought history to life, inspiring students with its themes of resilience and patriotism.

Next, students explored the "Exhibition on the History, Culture, and Prominent Figures of Hakka in the Greater Bay Area," organized by PolyU's Research Centre for Chinese History and Culture. The exhibition showcased Hakka pioneers developing the New Territories, the East River Column's defense of Hong Kong, and the historic "Secret Rescue" mission. Rare Qiaopi (remittance letters) and historical archives reflected the patriotic devotion of overseas Hakka communities.

Combining traditional patterns and folk songs with interactive digital tools like "Surname Root-Tracing," the venue blended rich history with modern technology. By leveraging Hakka culture as a bridge, the exhibition encourages Hong Kong youth and global Hakka communities to explore their roots, fostering national pride and ensuring this heritage flourishes across the Greater Bay Area.

The visit concluded with a tour of the PolyU campus. Combining history, art, and culture, the event broadened students' horizons and strengthened their sense of national identity.
