Learning War History with Metaverse-Supported Museum: Visiting the Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall

To promote national education and strengthen students' national identity, our school recently organised a visit to the Hong Kong Sha Tau Kok Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall (the Law's House). During the visit, students learned about the war's history and understood the significance of our country's victory. They also reflected on the sacrifices made by war heroes, which led them to respect the past more deeply.

To make the learning experience more engaging, the visit was supported by metaverse technology. Students compared what they saw in the real museum with a virtual museum experience. They noticed differences in viewing angles, details, and how information is presented. This helped students understand the historic sites more clearly and think more critically about the stories behind the exhibits. Students said the blended learning approach made history easier to remember and more meaningful. It also supported our I&T education goals by showing how technology can help students learn in a more interactive and effective way. We believe this activity will encourage students to learn, reflect, and build stronger values for the future.
