Alumni Sharing: Tse Choi Wing

Recently, our school had the privilege of inviting alumna Tse Choi Wing back to share an engaging career talk with younger students. As a nurse, she drew on her own experiences to provide an engaging introduction to the specialized learning content, career development, and promotion opportunities in nursing, along with salary references and industry insights, benefiting all attendees.

At the beginning of her talk, the alumna detailed the curriculum of specialized nursing studies based on her own experiences. She mentioned that nursing students need to master a wide range of knowledge, including fundamental nursing, pathology, and pharmacology. Additionally, they must complete clinical internships to immerse themselves in a hospital environment and learn how to provide professional medical care to patients in real situations.

She then delved into the career development and pathways for nurses, pointing out that nurses can work in both public and private hospitals, and can advance to roles such as specialized nurses or nursing officers, even progressing into healthcare management. Furthermore, she shared the various specialty choices available to nurses, such as operating room nurses, emergency room nurses, and paediatric nurses, providing clear direction for students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. She also noted that nurse salaries and benefits have been gradually improving in recent years, becoming particularly competitive after advancing to management roles. She emphasized that nursing is a challenging yet meaningful profession, allowing individuals to help others and accompany patients during significant moments in life—a worthwhile vocation to pursue.

This alumni career sharing session not only opened the eyes of the younger students but also inspired them to study hard and lay a foundation for their future careers.
