Bridging Art and Technology with Students Excelling in Art Tech Education
Our students recently participated in the Art Tech Workshop organized by the Jockey Club Future Laboratory of Arts Tech at the College of Professional and Continuing Education of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU CPCE). This workshop aimed to enhance students’ skills in 3D modeling, allowing them to apply technology to create real-world art.
During the session, students learned to observe materials from different perspectives using hand-held microscopes. Following this observation, they developed their art creations with the assistance of a 3D modeling website, expressing excitement about using the latest technology to bring their ideas to life.
As part of STEAM week, PolyU CPCE delivered a school talk on creation through technology. The guest speaker discussed the impact of technology on our daily lives, inspiring students to think creatively. Topics like biomimetics left a strong impression and broadened their horizons for career planning.
After the talk, our students were invited to participate in a broadcast show by PolyU CPCE. They appeared on “The Way We Are” on Commercial Radio Hong Kong, where they shared their views on the relationship between technology and everyday life. This experience highlighted their enthusiasm for technology and their aspirations for careers in technology and engineering.
