In a move to provide students with valuable insights into the accounting profession, the Careers Education Department recently organized an engaging visit to ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Hong Kong. This event offered students a chance to understand the accounting field, and explore their potential career opportunities, leaving students feeling informed and inspired.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from our IMC, Mr. Alex Wong, a distinguished Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and Past Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong (1999-2000). Mr. Wong set the tone for the day, providing an overview of the agenda and igniting a sense of excitement among the attendees.

Continuing the inspiring line-up, our esteemed alumna, Ms. Ng Tin Yan, shared her remarkable experiences as a distinguished athlete and scholarship recipient. Her insights into balancing academics and sports, as well as the importance of perseverance and discipline, resonated with the students, serving as a testament to the institution's commitment to holistic development.

The event reached new heights with the insightful presentation by Mr. Derek Hui, a distinguished Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and Head of Commerce of Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO). Mr. Hui's professional journey in the accounting and commerce sectors offered invaluable career advice, highlighting the significance of the ACCA qualification in shaping one's career path.

Rounding out the event, Ms. Kammi Choi, a Business Relationship Manager, provided an informative introduction to the ACCA accounting profession. This session aimed to give students a clear understanding of the skills and qualifications required to succeed in the dynamic accounting field.
