The Fourth Annual Fashion Show of Lam Tai Fai College has been successfully held on 30 May 2008 (Friday).
"My Pride . Our Nation" was a showcase of the endowed and emerging student designers who may be the future of the fashion industry. With its diversity of textures and original designs, the creativity and innovation of the work of our budding designers astounded the most seasoned industry professionals.

The highly anticipated Annual Fashion Show featured the best collections of our student designers. They were encouraged to explore the Chinese culture, understand the virtue of Chinese spirits, make use of the characteristics of ethnic Chinese as the foundation of the design and integrate the Chinese traditions into modern design. The smooth transition from Western and Chinese design showed their adeptness at building bridges between cultures, in which the goal of 'One World, One Dream' is to be cherished. Not only a unique platform for talented fashion designers, the event has presented an excellent opportunity to promote national education so that our students' understanding of our nation is enhanced and a shared sense of national pride is cultivated.

Ms Camille Wang and Ms Florence Lam, the chiefs-in-charge of the Fashion Show, together with teachers and students formed the Organizing Committee which had contributed tremendous effort and much time for putting up the fabulous show tonight. As a whole-school endeavour, all teachers and students agreed that it was an enlightening yet educational experience. The response to the show was overwhelming. The talent was unbelievable, the range immeasurable. Whether it was Chinese arts, crafts, legends, blessings or Beijing Olympic inspiration, mesmerizing the audience. That they were enjoying every moment was shown by the applause that followed each illustration and performance.

We are greatly indebted to the gracious presence of over 60 guests who are professionals and distinguished figures from the textile and clothing industry were invited by our supervisor, Dr. Lam Tai Fai, BBS, JP to attend the Fashion Show. Our Adjudicating Panel was formed by widely acclaimed designers & professionals which included Mr. Koyo William Cheung, member of Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association; Ms. Portia To Shui Yu, Senior Lecturer of Hong Kong Design Institute; Prof. Raymond Au, Associate Professor of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Prof. Winnie Yu Wing Man, Associate Professor of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (the Principal Adjudicator). The presence of Mr. Koyo William Cheung, a renowned designer in recognition of his unique style and ability to inspire promising young fashion designers, had deeply enlightened and impressed our student designers. The remarks from the adjudicators and guests have helped unleash the potentials of the aspiring as well as the talented. We believed that we had produced a show of outstanding quality which serves to motivate us to strive for further excellence in the coming year.
